dustofferI Missed!
Went to my local hog spot with the bow, put out some hand corn and got settled in by 6:45. 7:15 a good sized boar comes in from the left front (upwind). Circles the feeder on the opposite side, then comes in. I am giving him time to settle a bit and he spooks, headed back in the direction he came from.

Stopped about 20 yds from the feeder for a minute and then comes back to the corn pile. I let him get settled and offer me the quartering away shot, which he did. I turn on my sight light, draw, anchor, aim (remembering to hold low for the heart), and triggered the release.

Heard a "thwack" and the hog took off, leaving the arrow at the spot he was standing. I am thinking "hit the upper leg bone and bounced out or didn't get good penetration and arrow broke off at his first move". After about 30 minutes I got down and walked to the arrow--WTH? It is stuck in the dirt without a trace of blood or tissue on it.
Did a check for blood on the trail out--nada. Finally decided that the arrow just whacked him passing by, missing low by a hair or so.
He's had his chance--next time it may be the thermal scope intro time---
