Wednesday Morning hunt
Left this am with the dogs to hunt a place I had not hunted in 2 years. The land owner met me there and we first checked an old peanut field with no luck. When I returned the landowner said he heard some pis squealing on the other side of the pond. I took the suzuki over and let out Quirt and Penny. In just a few minutes we heard the unmistakeable roar of a rally. I quickly dropped the rest of the dogs and they immediately caught 2 sows. After we killed them I loaded the catch dogs and headed toward another bay. They had another sow bayed next to the fence where I would have to walk if they crossed the fence. Dropped Bones and he caught. Loaded the dogs and went back to the pickup to get the break stick and then on to another field.By then it was daylight and as we were entering the field we saw a group of hogs running along the fence. We hurried on past them to get the wind on them and then I dropped Quirt, Badger, and Maverick. Into the brush they went and hogs started going everywhere. Finally two sows left the brush and started around us in an open field. That is when I let the stagxbulls out and thy caught her like she was standing still. I drove to them killed the pig and loaded them back in the suzuki and started after the other one. At that time I felt like I was coyote hunting because I swung around so the stagxbulls could see her and then opened the gate.Another sow caught. I loaded them back in the suzuki and headed back to where I had dropped the other dogs and fount tht bones, maverick, and badger had two more caught. All in all a goog hunt and I got to see the two stagxbulls in action.here-to-fore they have been catching in the brush where I couldn't watch.

duckman, great job!! Talk about a productive hunt! What did you kill them with if you don't mind me asking?

That's excellent, duckman! I still have my Kabar from when I was one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children! It's a fine knife for killing! Good job and keep posting up reports like these, they're great!

good job on the pigs! and with a trusty old kabar no less! i really like that knife. here's mine...the worlds ugliest kabar knife. about 35 years ago, a friend found it at the edge of a lake with the handle rotted off. i talked him out of the blade and fixed it up. never jabbed a pig but it has finished off a few jackrabbits Big Grin

again, nice job on the piggies

Great story, nice line up of of pigs and good looking dogs! Would like to hear more info and see more pics of your dogs. Stagxbulls? Not familiar with. Are they from pit bloodlines?

Again, great story, what a way to start anyday.

Kind regards,
Mary
