dustofferEscaped--
Checked traps today and found this--

Using my best CSI-Pasture skills, and examining the evidence below, I have determined that I need to add some height to the trap sides.
Mud on wire across entrance where they squeezed under:
Mud on top wire where he/she climbed out:

Bobby TomekYep, definitely a CSI forensics moment. ANd with hogs, they rarely do that unless pressured, but if one figures it out, it's monkey see-monkey do...and they all copy what they saw the other one succeed at.
You'll get 'em. Of that I am CERTAIN.

georgeldHogs are similar to sheep in that way.
I've watched a whole top layer of a semi loaded with sheep jump over the sides. Many broken legs but, still kept jumping off til the very last one. A couple of us just happened to have .22's I had a pistol so we started shooting the cripples in the head. That was close to half of them. No idea how many in all, not less than 100 I'm sure. STUPID animals! Though from a trap fence they're SMART huh? haha! Better luck next time.
