300Magnum First Blood.
Just some photos I dug up of my 300 Weatherbys first conquest

First creature taken with 300.

After that trip I ordered a Brown Precision semi finished stock, bedded it myself, and went out to initiate her again by drilled this one.

They were actually taken on the same paddock, and I assume they are from the same family, cause of the white on the forelegs(but I dont know much about hog genetics).
In fact I took a number of boars in the area over time with much the same white feature.

It was fun(and beneficial) hunting with that rig. My hunting companion was regulary using 22/250,and when ever things got too big and too far away,he would gracefully concede, and indicate me to take the option of the shot.
I tried his method one day, using my 224weatherbyVartmintmaster, and consequently lost a monster , needless to say, the .300 did not get much chance to collect dust.

Woodjack, very nice! What kind of distance did you shoot them from?

Distances were about 120-150yds on running targets. 180-NBT at about 3200mv.
The first one took two broadside hits from the 300 before He went down.
The first hit him too far back, second hit broke both shoulders and stopped just under the skin.
Just more proof that great power offers little advantage if you do not place it correctly.
Believe it or not, that dog you see played no roll in our hunting, we actually had to do the chasing and bailing for him Mad Big Grin.
So it was like hunting and taking your dog for a walk at the same time. He actually caused us to lose game. There were a few times that he somehow??Roll Eyes?? ended up in the crosshairs himself, but was spared.
There were some very frustrating and hilarious situations that came about cause of that dog and a 22/250. They were far from being the ideal combo for hog.
