JJHACKRe: Big - Truth or Not
I don't understand the hype over this. It's just a domestic farm hog. They regularly get to 1000 pounds. I shot one stuck in a river for a farmer years ago that was 750 dressed and it had about 6" of tusk sticking out of the gums. The uppers were as thick as a warthog tusk.
It was just a giant stupid fat farm pig. Exactly like the one in the photo here. Why all of a sudden is a big farm hog news?

Matt NormanThe legend grows! Two or three months ago it was called "Hogzilla" and weighed 1000 pounds. Next year it will be 1500 pounds and it attacked a school bus full of kids. Of course, it had the rural legend story: Man shoots monster pig somewhere in Georgia. Only one photo taken. Nothing saved, nobody else saw it, his wall at the house wasn't big enough for the skull/head, etc, etc, etc. Kind of reminds me of the "Rumpula Buck" (sp?) that was the buzz a couple years ago here in Michigan with a story that didn't flush. Or the 14 foot brown bear in Alaska a couple years ago that the story cycled around the Internet several times.
Currently running on A-R at this time is a story of a 50 inch Sable. There are multiple photos. There are names, dates, confirmation, etc. It will end up mounted on a wall and entered in records books. Plenty of witnesses.
Maybe the guy shot a monster hog. But why all the murkiness? Why not load it up in the truck and take it to town in front of the local feed store? Take a few more photos?
