Harold R. StephensSouth Texas Does and Pigs
Weekend total was 15 pigs 11 does and 1 rabbit.
Was a great weekend, was not our most preductive, had some young hunters and first time south Texas hunters. First time hunters are not used to the longer ranges of this place, as most shots are between 150 and 200 yards. we try to warn first time guys to get to range and re-zero for 200 but most dont make it and wish they had once they get there. We always bring a couple of back up guns they wind up shooting since they are zeroed for that range. Funny, you can give a guy a gun and tell them it dead on at 200, just point and shoot, how much confidence it gives someone that have never shot past 75 to 100 yards. Never fails.
One of our guest got a great boar for his first south Texas pig, was the best of the weekend.
Will make next trip March 21 for opening of spring turkey and from what we saw it will be great. I count myself blessed to be able to hunt this place. I wish everyone could experence south Texas. Setting in a blind watching the world awaken is times that make everday life bearable.

Harold R. StephensMy group is really lucky to be able to hunt this place in the off season for pigs and varmints. he fact we get to help on thinning the doe and turkey population is a bonus.
