264wm spitzerCracker Boar
Late start on a morning hunt today. Walked a couple of local swamp arms and not alot of sign. Dry season winds were there usual and blew from all directions.
Part way down one arm I found some fresh sign heading towards the floodplain. Followed the sign and it got fresher as I went further.
Found some sign from early in the morning, fresh diggings. Kept going and the wind played the game for a change. Had gone about 400m and found some sign that still had shiny mud so very fresh, 150 m on I found a small mob.
Called Styer in close and moved into about 40m from the nearest sow. Picked out another about 70m out and settled for a shot. Eventualy the sow presented a side on shot and she dropped at the shot.
I stood up and there were pigs going everywhere, spotted a huge boar and settled on him , when he cleared the paperbarks i dropped him on the run the next shot clipped a tree. I dropped another round in and missed a tail ender in the thick paper barks. Sent Styer for a look the boar was a cracker and huge. Set the pigs up for a a few pics and then walked out.
Used a winchester extreme 325wsm and 160 TTSX projectiles.
Heres some pics. Cheers Mick
