California looks a little under-represented...
Here are a few taken by clients during this past year:
Anybody recognize this character below??? (Mike Dettorre who posts here often - he's been a great client for years and apparently hasn't wised up much on his choice of guides because he's booked another 3 hunts for '09)

Me with a double rifle pig
Vance with a backyard pig from last summer
Vance with a west Texas pig
JV with his first pig (Ruger 44 carbine)
Me with a backyard .30 carbine pig
Warning! Do NOT kill pigs in August! It's Hot!
They have all been great pigs, true trophies due to hunting with the family! I have seen Vance and JV grow up in the woods, rivers and lakes! Great hunts and memories.
PS: Neither one of these two punks thinks the .308 BLR is small for these evil boars! I am trying to get them to shoot the 45-70 or 348 winchester but they trust that BLR for some reason!

He was big! He is the largest dead Pig I have ever seen!

That appears to be a HUGE pig.
Exactly how far behind the pig are you in the picture?
I would guesstimate easily 500+/- pounds, but I have never seen one that big so am just shooting in the dark.

I was not touching the pig with my knees, there was a space between me and the pig, but it wasn't a "Walter and the Buffalo" shot either!
500 is certainly a reasonable guess. WHen they get that big I have trouble guessing. I have always thought he was around that 450 mark. Easy to miss it by 75 lbs when they get that big.
I have trapped a lot of pigs and I have seen others "guestimate" what their weigh is and have seen a lot of 180lb "300 Lb'ers".
He was huge by any standard. That is all I know. I have never personally seen a bigger pig than this one.

As soon as any pig approaching that size (350lb +) showed up, there would be hoards of hunters chasing him till he was dead over here.

BTW-read your other thread about a move to Tejas and would strongly recommend it!! Been here almost ten years now, and before that was in your neck 'o the woods up in West Yellowstone. Even though I love to ski and snowmachine I haven't missed that snow since the day I set foot in the south. Texas has outstanding outdoor opportunities and a very friendly business climate, however, no matter what anyone tells you, we don't have any mountains that compare to what can be seen from anywhere in JH.

Everyone with property that hunts or just enjoys wildlife has a corn feeder or two plus we have a proliferation of commercial hunting ranches that cultivate feral hogs. These things all create a very favorable environment.

I shot him on my ranch. At the time I was in the process of exterminating all the pigs. I would just shoot them on sight.
I was sitting on a hill at sunset and this guy was trotting acrtoss the field below me.
Not sure why I had the 375 H&H in my lap. I never carry it, but I took a 350 yard "trotting" shot at him and flung another one at him after the first.
Didn't even think I hit him, but I heard him "gurgle". Drove down to the field and he was laying in the middle of the road.
I had no idea he was big until I got up to him.
There is one more that size that I have shot a couple times ... he lives on.

KabluewyHere's one my Texas buddy got while I was there in January. Although it's not the size of those you guys are showing, I'll bet that none made better bar-b-q.
I got a bigger one, but the pictures didn't turn out. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Never under estimate the internet community's ability to reply to your post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence issue.
What I have learned on AR, since 2001:
1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken.
2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps.
3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges.
4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down.
5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine.
6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle.
7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions.
8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA.
9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not.
10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact.
11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores.
12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence.
13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

yessir, I'd say those were some pretty decent hogs. I was in Oahu and Kauai from December 8 to 18 last year. It was during the floods on both islands. Met a bunch of guys that were hog and sheep hunting with muzzleloaders and bows. I had this picture on my cell phone. It gave me a little "street cred" if such can be said for a tourist.

Snellstrom2 Weeks ago we got three in Texas, this is one of them, all three were about same size. We should have had a lot more but there was some confusion with this method of hunting for us Coloradoans!
These guys were well fed from Peanut and Milo fields, the camera flash kept catching a stupid look on my face but maybe thats just me. I prefer smaller hogs for eating but two of these were real good eaters, one stunk so bad we had to abandon him.

BTW, you have a very beautiful boar there yourself we'd be doing backflips if we caught a 270# boar with the dogs. I would say he had at least 3.5" tusk but my guess would be a little higher for sure nice coloration as well.

Live weight was about 95 kg; a really fine boar here. The rifle is a BAR cal. 300 WM. I'm not the fortunate hunter
