Two sounders, two shots, two pigs!
.

Out this evening on a maize bait. Shortest day of the year and a wonderful full moon! Minus 6 Celcius. Frosty and cold.

Around 10:45 pm sounder of 10-12 pigs came in and after watching them a few moments, I dropped an eating size pig to my .30-06 CZ shooting Norma factory ammo.

Dragged the hoglet off the bait site and continued sitting. 45 mins later a single sow and hoglet came in. Waited for my chance and shot the hoglet.

A while later 3 bigger pigs came to the edge of the woods but not into the bait site. Shame. A triple would have been a first but I am more than happy with the double! Two for two for two!

Let 'em grow a bit Charlie.

not enough meat there for a good meal.

Lotta gun for pups mate. Good shooting though.

Are YOU having fun? that's the question.

Merry Christmas.

Thanks for sharing your hunts with us.

George seasons greetings / merry Christmas!

Lots of pigs about and I needed two small ones for the BBQ! .30-06 is a bit heavy, agreed, but they dropped on the spot. Had I waited another hour it could have been 3!

All well and enjoying the hogs and the foxes!

Cheers,

Charlie

Good shooting and best Holiday Wishes.

BTW, No need to defend using a 30 caliber rifle. Last time out with my .308, I took 3 eating size pigs and the time before one shot from my .308 dropped this biggie piggie:

Nice shooting. Now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor with the bar-b-q.
