drewhenrytntPosse Hog Hunt
I just got done cleaning everything after a fabulous weekend of pig shooting in Victoria with Texaspredatorposse.com. Wonderful bunch!
We hunted the Gordon Ranch and had a ball. I killed two pigs using a .308 and RBCD Predator ammo....126gr 3650fps. 1st pig bang-flop 55yds about 110lbs. Second pig ran about 50yds and piled up. One shot only required. ENTRY HOLES ONLY ! Hopefully Bobcat will chime in soon. He along with geedubya have pictures of the pigs and the ranch we hunted. Fantastic hunt, good company except maybe for that yankee Gatogordo(jk). Everybody loves you Charlie and your ability to make a long story short! Lookin forward to shootin' more pigs with RBCD as soon as possible.

Bobby TomekAmongst the bunch that hunted, I guess he'd qualify since he resides in northeast Texas...

But that's as close to being a Yankee as Gato will ever be...

Those other guys were the "southeners" from the likes of Corpus Christi, Natalia, Pearland, etc.
Now come on guys: PICTURES, pictures, pictures!!! We are all waiting on them...

Bob in TXAndy is right, we had a great time and managed to get some hunting in too.
FYI-The correct URL for the Posse is:

The group, L to R: geedubya, Jeremy (one of our guides), Bob in TX, drewhenrytnt, Adam, Gatogordo, CamoManJ, Micah (guide/Posse Member).
The lodge.
Foreman's house. Lots of OLD oaks, palmettos, ripe grapes, and alligators.

Bob in TXAndy's hogs. They weighed in at 125 lbs. and 110 lbs.
29 June 2009, 17:20
Bob in TXAdam shot the largest hog of the weekend at 200 lbs.
This 6' gator was the first critter we saw on the ranch. Gatogordo saw a 12' gator later in the weekend. The ranch is right at 4000 low-fenced acres.

Bob in TXGatogordo and Adam, G's son, brought great Texas rib eyes for the grill Friday night along with some nice Merlot's to accompany them. Geedubya worked his "seasoning magic" on them for the grill.
It was over 100 degrees the whole weekend. Geedubya on arrival visiting with our guides, Micah and Jeremy.
Geedubya later adjusted to the heat.

Bob in TXSaturday night, Geedubya spent hours preparing a feast. He marinated and grilled both chicken and beef fajitas along with roasted sweet corn. To make sure we didn't go away hungry he also had homemade chicken enchiladas and pork tamales. While he was preparing supper, he made sure we had plenty of Aoudad Jalapeño & Cheese Summer sausage and cold boiled shrimp with tartar sauce to keep us busy.
Saturday morning, Andy did his awesome breakfast with pancakes, bacon, coffee, juice, and milk. We had to stop him from also cooking up a few dozen eggs too.
Needless to say, we ate very well all weekend.

Bob in TXWe had a great surprise Saturday afternoon. Jeffeosso drove to camp to spend the afternoon with us, accompanied by a few bottles of his home make mead.
Here is another shot with Andy, GWB, and the Texas oaks.

Bobby TomekThanks for the report and the pictures, Bob!
That's quite a cast of characters you guys had there...

Glad to see yall got some piggies on the ground. Here, they've gone pretty much nocturnal on me, and there seems to be little activity before midnight.

Harold R. StephensI love those kinds of weekends. The camp comradery is as refreeshing as the hunting is. Sure is a great way to recharge your batteries.
You weren't lacking for good food, thats for sure. Great hunt thanks for the pictures.

Larry MatherneMan, what a great account and photo's. Can make a fella wish he was there for sure. Wouldn't mind having a little gator for a sauce picaunte.
Gatogardo, brought the steaks, what a man, I'd bring him along even if he is a yankee, and congrats to Adam for the largest hog.

GeedubyaThis is a copy of my report on TPP
Lets see,
Texas Predator Posse group hunt, June of 09,
A report.
I guess I could say that I drove from here to there and back, roasted my tail feathers, sweated like a politician telling the truth, and all I got out of the deal was this friggin cap!
but that would not be the truth , and since “veracity” is my middle name , my report is as follows,
Thanks Bob for putting the trip together and being the ramrod for this group. Kinda like herding cats for sure.
A big thumbs up (where, I’ll not say) to Gatogordo (Charlie) for all his stories and commentary, and for “making them short” while all the time playing the role of Bacchus.
A great big thank you to Adam for all the meat I brought home, since I have yet to shoot a hog on one of these “shoots”. Nice thing about hunting with Adam, I can sleep in and let him enjoy the balmy south Texas breezes and golden sunshine while I sleep in. He is able, by perserverence, skill and luck to keep a small army in pork chops.
Thanks to CammomanJ for his good humor and that mighty fine repast we enjoyed Sunday morning.
Speaking of mighty fine fixins. If you ever get a chance to let Andy (South Texas Sasquatch) fix breakfast for you, you will enjoy a 7 course meal. Just be sure to get him started cooking at 2:00 AM if you expect to eat before mid-day. Bacon at 8:00, Bacon at 9:00 Bacon at 10:00. Pancakes at 11:00, eggs at noon, instant grits by 2:30 PM. Teach me to let a tool and die maker cook breakfast. Lucky he did not have to “mike” the thickness of each strip of bacon to the nearest .0000001”. But the boy can sure pick out a good cantaloupe. And also a note of thanks to Andy, who I am going to suggest renaming the “South Texas Foghorn”. I downloaded one of his better snoring sequences, I’m putting it on a chip and next time I’m out on the open water in the fog and worried about getting rammed by an ocean going vessel I’ll play a loop at minimum volume. I try to make sure that the speaker is pointed offshore as not to create a tidal wave. But the boy can shoot and I think you guys saw the evidence of that with Bob’s previous posts.
Thanks also to Jeffeosso for traveling all that distance to favor us with a couple of bottles of the best “Mead” I’ve ever tasted. If I was a fightin’ man, I’d say it was good enough to make you want to slap yo’ daddy down.
A shout out to our guides for “a mighty fine job”. They went to a great deal of effort to quickly scout out a ranch that they did not know, in order to find the location of ranch stands and to determine whether there was any hog activity at these stands. They put us on the hogs. Five were shot, three recovered. Jeremy and Micah are a credit to the outfitter they work for. Both our guides knew what they were doing and worked their “tails” off to make out hunt successful and enjoyable.
Finally, thanks to the group for letting me share your “campfire” and for putting up with this “Zopilote Viejo”. I’m looking forward to getting with all ya’ll again soon.
