505Gibbs just took this giant Bushpig in the Kafue - Zambia. Never seen anything like it. The damn thing looks like it is crossed with a Red River Hog.

Did you take this pig with your 405?

No Brad shot him with a 300WM. The .405 also belongs to him.

What a brute! Does the area where you hunted hold good #'s of bushpigs? I'd plan a hunt around looking for his brother, or daddy !

My wife would object, but that looks like a full body mount to me! Nice pig.

That has got to be the best hog, of any type, that I have ever seen!

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Never really hunted then but we bump them quite often and lots of diggings in and around our swampy areas.

Best method is to put down a maggot ridden carcass in their favourite haunts and sit over it like you would a Leopard or Lion.

Some chaps have excellent success with hounds in RSA.

Larry,

It will be a full mount and I suggested a sleeping pose, anchored by a large chain to the entrance door of Brad's office. With a dangerous warning sign not to wake the pig?

I was thinking the same thing! Remember, it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission!

If you look real close you'll see that hog is the spitting image of Madaline Allbright. Or maybe Rosy o'Donnell.

Impressive animal and it really does look like some of the renderings of what some of extinct early mammals looked like.

To increase your chances then get your PH to prebait them. The South African's are master's at this. A rotting carcass works well if there are no predators about.
