I went back to the pine plantation for one night. I arrived and fill the feeder again..


A pig arrived early, this pic was just seconds before the shot.


We get out of the blind and just to test the results we put a red light in the feeder. We want to see if the pigs were afraid of it. In the floor behind me you can see the first pig we shot, I am the one in the floor and Federico my hunting buddy was "in the air"


Few minutes later some pigs arrived, not a big one in the bunch, I finally shot the clearer one you see in the picture. And no they were not afraid of the red light...

Just from the photos, it seems that spot has lots to offer for the piggies.

I enjoy the planning, finding the right spot for the blind, the feeder, studying the winds, etc, etc, as much OR MORE than shooting them, that's hunting !!

Putting everything together to have a chance is a lot of fun. Some people may think that using feeders or trail cams makes everything easier..maybe yes but this not means that you will bag a BIG old pig. To fool a really big one you must work in every detail.

I have learn more about pigs in one year using trail cams that in my whole life chasing them without this technology.

You learn about their feeding paterns, about dominant family groups in a given area, how boars come and go without sticking too much to any family group,that this families usually are integrated by a couple of big sows and their yearlings, etc, etc.

Sorry for "talking" too much, I can go for hours and hours, hunting from blinds it's my passion and I consider it a real science

Next week I will be in Buenos Aires attending Palermo's cattle show, so I will not be able to return to check the cams till the first week of august.

Hey, I didn't know they sold "Redneck Ladders" in South America! I thought "The South" was the only place we had those!

I love the hogs you guys have down there. They are different than our feral pigs in teh US.
