GeedubyaEasier said than done.
That pix was one taken during a 10 day sequence. I had two other game cams set out at feeders less than a mile away as the crow flies. Each camera had about 250 images each. After reviewing each, that was the only shot in which that boar was identifiable. Typically the don't get that big by being predictable. Usually they are solitary from my experience and nocturnal. Most times those come between 1 AM and 4 AM IMHO. I have had game cams set up on 3 different feeders off and on all year.
He stands out. Maybe its just the angle. Quien Sabe.
as does this miscreant, who is not long for this world if I have anything to say about it.

scottfromdallasThat is a bruiser. The coyote reminds me of last year. One night I was calling them at night and couldn't locate them with my red kill light. You could hear them yelping everywhere. I finally gave up and went to the cabin. Next morning their was coyote crap on my front porch right by my door.
Message received although I will get one of those bastids eventually.

Take a good look on the far side right under the legs. Is that another coyote over there?
I can't tell for sure if it is, or if it's another rock. Maybe with the original you can tell.
Seems those dogs have a high opinion of you Scott, haha!

GeedubyaTKA,
you are correct.
My son informed me yesterday.
I've got with a bud and we're heading up this coming Thursday. Stay through Sunday, maybe Monday. Maybe poke something.
Definitely enjoy a beverage or two and some stogies.

Bill/OregonGeedubya, what is your favorite way to cook and eat those guys?
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

GeedubyaBill,
Lets see,
I will have it ground just like hamburger. I will also have traditional breakfast, Italian, and garlic patty sausage. I will have smoked Italian and garlic link sausage. I add it with either aoudad or venison and have jalepeno cheese summer sausage made.
I will smoke a hind from time to time.
I will marinade a loin in zesty italian dressing and teriyaki sauce then season it and cook it over hot mesquite coals.
My son has a friend whose Abuela makes killer spicy pork tamales (using lard).
However, probably my most favorite is.........
putting it in the crock-pot and cooking for 8 to 10 hours until it is "fall off the bone tender" and making pulled pork sandwices. Onion roll/sour dough, cole slaw, and pulled pork. HEB here has some killer Carolina style BB-Que sauce. Cilantro lime, or strawberry or even just a can of Dr. Pepper or cherry Coke. Good enough to make ya' want to slap yo' daddy down.
Best,
GWB

Bill/OregonDang, that's got me drooling. So far, Oregon has managed to keep wild hogs out, except for a few very localized infestations with shoot on sight rules. It's good for our farmers and ranchers, and for our game habitat, but still, it would be fun ...

GeedubyaMy idea is if life hands ya' a lemon, make lemonade.
Folks complain about them, I make the most of the opportunity. They are smart critters. The big old boars are probably smarter than deer. They are a great test medium for bullets and loads. I can have guys up to my lease and we can hunt them day and night year round. And they make great table fare.
I've got to where I'd just as soon hunt them as deer.
Best,
GWB

SevensGeedubya, you're one lucky guy to have a ranch to go shoot hogs at whenever you want.
May favorite way to cook hogs has always been Cuban style - lechon asado with some plantinos maduros.
And then you can use the leftovers to make Cuban sandwiches.

dustofferNot just good for checking bullet and load performance, but also good for checking broadhead performance as well. Since I've seen nada yesterday or today at my deer hunting spots, I think I'll go pig hunting tomorrow evening!
