Daughter's Hog from Saturday
I took my 11 year old daughter hunting this week (I have 3 girls and one son). We hunted Friday through Sunday. We also had time to fish, shoot at the range, and swim in the crystal clear river (I watched the dog and car). This is her second hog, fourth if you count two little football pigs she got last fall with a crossbow.

She wanted to try something different. I've been itching to try out some of the 60 grain subsonic 22 LR loads from Aguila. So we practiced with them at the range with my old JC Higgins Model 30. It will cycle anything except 22 subsonic sorts. She was holding a tight group at 25 yards with iron sights. We were ready.

We decided to setup close to a feeder where the hogs where coming in. First we had to do bug duty in the blind. This is normal during the summer. Except this time I had to deal with a Black Widow. Bugs and spiders don't bother me, Black Widows do. There is just something about them, besides the fact they can mess you up. My make shift shooting sticks are still undefeated versus spiders. Black Widow dead.

After waiting for about an hour (while my daughter read books on her Kindle - great for blinds and kids) a group of hogs came in. She said she wanted the "oreo" hog, which also happened to be the biggest, and took a head shot. The hog fell over like a cardboard cut-out. It was awesome. While very quiet, the shot did scare the other hogs away.

Be warned, these Aguila rounds are messy in a semi-auto. Make sure anyone near is wearing eye protection.

What a great picture!

A few years and you're probably gonna need those guns to fend off all the two legged varmints.

Good on ya both!

You are very blessed, we hope to have 4 children and even though we got a late start in this (late 30's) 4 is the goal.

How hard was it to get them into hunting?
