First Blood with 9.3x74R
I ordered a new Encore barrel from Match Grade Machine in December, and it came in yesterday. I killed a pig with it today.

How come it took you so long to get the scope mounted & sighted-in?

Pretty spiffy looking Encore set-up Jeff; gets my vote for C-O-O-L.

For Sure; nice dead Porker although noticed you selected one attempting to make a fashion statement w/the Hairdresser job & all .....

W-W-What, er, WTF-Over? They didn't offer the barrel in 35 Whelen Rimmed?
shocker

Pardon my Cynism - Job Well done!

Jeff, WTG! I bet that little rifle has some "Brisk" recoil with that 9.3X74R.

If you consider a warm loaded 308 "brisk", then yes, but I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, it weighs nearly nine pounds.

My load was a 285 gr PRVI bullet, 66 grs H4831SC, CCI 250 primer in virgin Norma brass, and I haven't had a chance to chronograph it but should be around 2100 fps. As far as accuracy, the load grouped about an inch.

She was facing me at about 100 yards, and I shot her slightly above but between the eyes. She bounced. Cool

Nice. I really like the caliber.

Next time, you might think about shooting one in the chest, frontal, so you can dig the bullet out of her ass, and show us a picture! HaHa! That's a cool rig. I've been getting a little more interested in the 9.3, and I have an Encore too.
Mind telling us what you have invested in the barrel?

Good Luck, and Good Hunting!
