Cow Killers
Landowner on the west side of my local lease who also leases grazing/hunting on the east side property, was riding up a 2-track with his daughter and discovered a calf (220# or so) and a cow dead in the track. Both had been shot in the head-with a .22
There's a rough bunch of folks that live close to the north property line and one has been caught in their deer blind at least once. Also has allegedly been seen throwing dead does across the fenceline-

Guess I need to be more watchful although I've never seen any human activity on the place while out hunting or scouting.

That's a lot of lost $$ right there. I hope they can find and prosecute who did this.

That sort of crap is also dangerous for those who are working or hunting in the area. If they do things like this, I'm sure they probably just randomly shoot at any and everything and pay no attention to where those bullets may be going.

I’ve had 4 calves shot from the road, friggin’ spotlighters shoot at eyes that are close to the ground, or appear close to the ground because the grass might be tall. Not enough deputies or game wardens to catch them around here. Also had a large bull shot, 1600-1800 lbs, hard to mistake him for a pig! The ones they have caught have been from Dallas or towns north of us, they have a 5 acre rancho and think nothing of shooting on someone else’s place. Really pisses me off!
