Hunt From 2 weeks Ago
We hunted two nights and killed 13 hogs. We really didn't even have to hunt that hard or long because they are so concentrated around water right now. Here's a few pics.

We turned the dogs out and they immediately caught two sows that had been rooting out in a field. After killing the hogs and loading up dogs, we realized we were missing 3 dogs. We picked them up on the tracking box but couldn't hear barking due to the wind. We drove around down wind of them and they had this boar bayed at the edge of a tank.

We put out a little corn earlier in the night and we caught this boar close to that road so presumably he'd been eating some of the corn we put out. The dogs caught him in a thicket on the edge of a dry creek.

We turned the dogs out and were walking them toward a field where hogs had been rooting. This lone boar was either coming to or going from the field and the dogs got on him right away. They caught him in a real tough thicket and the two guys with me avoided a disaster as the hog broke free and ran toward them as we got close. One guy had some mud on his leg where the hog brushed up against him. Lucky for them he was just trying to escape and not do any damage because he had the teeth to do some. The dogs caught him soon after that and we killed him. Not the best picture in the world but things were quite hectic.

Just a random picture of another sow we caught.

Here's a complete pass through from a 44 mag with 210 grain silvertip hollowpoints. This scared me a little because I'm always worried about hitting a dog on the other side. I hit him a little bit high.

For as long as I can remember he's figured out when you were going to stick the hog and he sticks his face in there after you do it. And he won't leave the hog until you do so he's always around for the photo op.

By the way, you know Pete is 13 years old right? Well, the first boar he had caught by the nose, face to face. The boar would try to sling him off to cut him but he'd just hang on. I don't know how though, with his teeth worn down like they are. He caught another one about a month ago just like that.
