dustofferDoubleheader
I've been neglecting my pig shooting and instead, spending productive time in my bow stand, with a doe and a buck so far. However, I've got several folks that are asking for a pig, so tonight I decided to take the rifle also, and if I didn't shoot a deer with the bow, to go on to the pig stand. Well, had 6 different deer in to the stand, to include an 8-pt that wasn't legal (got to have at least a 13" spread), so I just had a nice sit and watch session. Headed for the pig stand just at dark, and got in my seat at 6:45. Feeder went off at 7:45, and again at 8:30. At 9:43, I saw two large shapes under the feeder and when I put the scope on them, I could see they were big boars. Then a 3rd one showed up, showed me his head, and at 9:44, it was "bang-flop". The boar weighed about 140-150 I'd guess, based on the effort it took to get him into the truck. I'll be back on the stand Sunday night after church--got to get back on my routine.

DesertRamAh, more vicarious living through you pig-slayers...
That's a dandy looking pig there; nice and fat. He should make a nice dinner or two. Good luck next go-'round!

dustofferI was rained out last night, this morning, and tonight, but weather should be just right for a bow hunt tomorrow. Then, Sunday night, if the north winds hold, I'll be able to sit in my bow stand and maybe take a pig with the bow instead of sniping from longer range with the rifle--
