Don made a really nice 250-300yd shot on the largest boar out of @20 pigs. it was right at dusk-very poor light. Rifle is a Winchester M70 custom shop M-70 Featherweight stainless in 270 WSM with a Ziess 3x9 on it-using 130 gr winchester ballistic tip factory load.

Don't be silly! Everybody knows that Ballistic Tips, especially at high velocity, just blow up on contact and won't penetrate something as tough as a hog.

I've got to conclude that the only reason the hog died was that he was so far out in the boonies that he didn't have access to broadband, or even a 3G signal, and had never read on the internet that he couldn't be killed by a Ballistic Tip.

the ballistic tip must have just scared him to death. Sean seemed to get excited when I stopped the 4x4 in front of the hog on his side of vehicle

I bet that old hog roast would not taste as good as an Icelandic pony steak--one of the best meals I ever had ! Can't say the same for minke whale meat, but I'd try it again...
