Great bullet, marketing bullshit at least for America. There is no such thing within a hog that would require or even define a special purpose bullet for that purpose. The gristle plate of a big boar is tough and dumb ideas like 22 LR and 9MM handguns have problems penetrating them on occasion. But any normal high power round capable of taking an animal of similar weight will cleanly take a boar.

I agree with the marketing aspect of it but it is good to see the ammo companies coming out with the lead free ammo. Even if the arguement against lead bullets is BS.

Yup, I'm always happy to see new shooting technology. Anything that keeps people's interest going is a good thing.

I agree, but BULLS--T is to costly to really believe.

I was just looking through Leupold's line for the first time in a while and I see they are eat up with it too. They have a "Zombie" scope and "Hog Rifle Scope". The Hog Scope has a "Pig-plex Reticle". WTF?

TT, nothing more than Leupold (like a lot of others) maximizing on what PT Barnum said a long time ago: "There's a sucker born every minute."

TT-Never had any trouble taking hogs with my .300 weatherby.

That ought to git'er done. Most of mine were killed with a 223 or 220 Swift.

Can't tell you how many I've killed with my .22-250. Or, how many I've shot with a .22 in a trap or at ranges 20 yds and under from a stand. Head/neck shots though.

Looks like a good bullet for just about anything.

You have to realize they are in the bussness of selling ammo.

I once had an issue with the old Winchester 25-06 120 grain PEP bullet on a large hog. It blew to pieces as it passed through the shield. I had a hog with one injured lung and good lung and a bad attitude. The shot was over 250 yards.

All I know is the 155 grain 6.5X55 slams hogs. No fancy bullet needed! 251 pound boar after field dressing. I am 6'8" 300 pounds. I think he and I weighed the same pre-knife.

I have no problem with this ammo, from any way to look at it. If it works, I'll use it.

What I've noticed lately, even though I'm a hard core handloader, is that there is a bunch of factory ammo available that I can't beat with handloads. This ammo probably is in that class, especially in 308. I'm perfectly ok with that. It's about time. I don't give a chit about marketing; I'm into performance. If it does what they say it will do, that's not marketing to me, it's just stating the facts. Less than that, then I'll critizise.

What bullet was it? Mega?

Yeah, that is the 155 Mega. I bought a case of them for my custom rifle. Case of loaded and a case of leads.

155 Mega is my favorite bullet for the 6.5x55.

Too much hype for all of these new bullets. I was using an old 156 grain slug from the 1950s from Hirtenberger...it did just as well as the 155 Mega in my 6.5X54MS
