It was dark and stormy night
A sounder of sows and piglets had been on the camera two nights in a row so I was determined to sit rain, wind and all. Rain stopped then it got humid! A couple of minutes before 9 when the feeder goes off this small boar enters the lights! Now I switched the green lights with white ones far better for shooting. I really wanted to anchor this guy but he had his head in front of one feeder leg and his chest behind another. If the feeder goes off he is gone so I put it on his hip and broke the shot. Some how I did not get the floor plate closing right after some trigger work and it dumped shells!By the time I get rifle reloaded the pig had crawled off. Waited for an hour to see if the sounder might show. Lightening was getting brighter was delayed thunder, time to get! Boar just cleared the back feeder fence and bled out. Finally a 416 pig!

Good pig, good story. Congratulations.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

And damn! you really thumped him with that .416!
Quite the barrel on that rifle- looks to be nearly a bull contour?
