I just heard Crazyhorse has gone to heaven.
Just saw a post on the American Big Game hunting thread. The accident happened today, something about his truck getting the best of him. Thought some would want to know.

Very sad. Gato, now Randall.
Bless ya buddy. Rest in peace.

Sad news, Randell and his posts will surely
be missed by me, and I expect by a lot of others on this forum. God Bless you Randell, and your wife, who you always talked about. RIP

Does anyone know his address? I would like to send his wife a letter. There are a lot of pigs that are safer now. I think there was a bison herd in heaven that needed cowboying.

May God give comfort to his wife.

Glad you asked for their address.
Here it is:

Olney, TX 76374

Sure would be nice if many of us would send a card.

Ken, this kind of thing could happen to any of us, especially when doing something we have done a hundred times before -- like closing a gate.
Doesn't make it one bit easier to take.

Safety, safety, safety. You can't let anything get in front of that, ever. Equipment can be repaired or replaced.

In my profession "Safety" was pounded into everyone, multiple times a day, and the number of fatalities in the oil industry dropped dramatically.

It was during days-off when things like this happened.

I had a good friend. He was a Drilling Superintendent in Odessa, Texas. He went fishing on a lake with his grown son. His son was driving the boat. Tommy's cap was blown off. They turned back for it. Came up along side. Tommy leaned out to grab his cap, fell in and went under the prop. Bled to death before his son could get him in the boat and back to shore.

There is no well to it, I hate hearing this. Wonder what we can do for his family? We didn't always agree on things but I enjoyed all his posts. Met him at a store in Olney one time and we made plans to take my grandson night hunting. I would have liked for my grandson to have met him.

My youngest son and I did a hunt with him this past October, really enjoyed talking with him and telling lies. Being a fellow cat lover we got along great.
He will be missed

Guys, to say the least, Randall was a good friend of mine. We spent many a long night shooting the shit and discussing everything under the sun.

I talked to "Sis" this afternoon. This is what I always called Lora because she says that I remind her of her brother.

The story from the paper is pretty accurate. They don't know whether the truck slipped out of park or not, but he did try to get back in and the worst happened.

His last thoughts and words were about Lora. He was supposed to pick her up after an outing of hers and he asked the guys he was with to make sure she was picked up. He asked them to tell her that he loved her. I will not go into all of the details, Lora said his chest was half the normal size and he flatlined a couple times on the way to the hospital and for the final time in Wichita Falls.

Lora asked that no flowers or plants be sent. As she said, "Larry, you know I can't keep the damn things alive." The cards and wishes will be greatly appreciated. Randall will not have a funeral. He was sent to Dallas for an autopsy. Evidently there are some accidents that require it. He will not be back to Olney for about 3 weeks. There he will be cremated and have his ashes spread over west Texas.

There will be a memorial in a couple weeks. I hope to post any new information I get. Lora and a couple other friends have contacted the state Department Of Parks and Wildlife and are requesting that a Community Fishing Lake be created and named for Randall. The fellow he worked for said he would donate his land with the proper creek running through it for this purpose. We will see what the State says.

Again, I will try to post any progress.

Godspeed you cantankerous old son of a bitch. I love you.

We only had about 20 minutes of light left when I dropped the hog only about 5 minutes before I snapped this picture.
Thanks.
