Bobby's Trap Strikes Again
Bought a trap from Bobby several years ago and it is still snatching them. I converted the door from a side-hinged to a top hinged model as I like them better as with the side hinge, if a couple try to crowd in at the same time, they often trip the trigger and back out when the door hits them.

I've had the trap at my bow hunting spot for a week and couldn't get the hogs to enter. They'd eat all the corn outside the trap but wouldn't go inside, even with 25lbs of corn just 2' inside the door.

I finally decided it was the angle-iron across the bottom of the entry that was the problem, so I covered it with loose dirt about 3" deep and then paved the top with golden pavement--worked and had 3 in the trap yesterday morning. It had started sprinkling as I opened the gate and by the time I was at the trap it was pouring, but I climbed out, pistol in hand, and did 'em. Dragged them out, loaded them up, and hauled them off to the buzzard buffet. Cut off the $5 rebate coupons (tails) and split them open for the buzzards, and then headed home for some hot coffee and dry clothes, and a gun cleaning session.

Congrats, my friend! And George is right. This sure does make me smile! Been stuck inside for far too long and have an itchy trigger finger. So you guys keep trapping and shooting -- and posting -- as I both appreciate and enjoy the posts.

It makes my day to read posts like this.

Thanks, Randy. Yes, my health issues have been winning the battle lately. But I am stubborn. I still have intentions of using the blind I have near the house this archery season, though I have yet to be out there with the crossbow since it opened the end of September. And the hogs had better not get too complacent because one day, I'll feel up to grabbing my 7mm Bullberry and making up for lost time. Smiler
