ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHAT .308 AMMUNITION PERFORMS BEST ON MEDIUM SIZED WILD BOAR?

Anything 150 gr or over for body shots, anything you can buy for head & neck.

165 grain...
but, then again, that's teh "right" bullet weight for any .308" bullet

Any good 165 grainer will get the job done. I shoot them with 140 grain 6.5mm XLCs with excellent results.

While I am no authority on hogs, I have killed 3 hogs, and know of 5 others that were killed with the Sierra 165 HPBT GameKing @ 2754 avg. fps. from a 308. They ranged in weight from 109 to 227 lbs. Complete penetration and one very dead hog on all of them. From my limited experience hogs of that size aren't any harder to kill than white tail deer of similar size.

I am a big fan of 165 grain bullets in the 308. the 165 Sierra HPBT has always performed perfectly for me. In factory ammo the Federal 165gr. Trophy Bonded Bearclaw is an excellent load. My wife and I have taken deer, pigs, bobcat, and coyotes with this load.
Of course you can never go wrong with the 165 Nosler Partition.
I have used 150's and 180's in the 308 with perfect results but the 165's are still my favorites for deer and wild pigs in the 308.

That's pretty fast for a .308, factory 150's only go 2700fps in my 22" barrel.

My first choice would be either the 150 Grain Failsafe or the 150 Grain Partition Gold, both in Winchester Supreme loadings.

yep.. right from the book, it can be done.

and, in all 30 cals, the 165 is the best "comprimise" between speed, 150, and SD, 180s...

which is why I say, 165's, same as in town

If you're talking ammo and not handloads anything you can buy over the counter will work fine. If you, like many, want the very best there is nothing wrong with that, go for any factory premium load. You do not need anything special, however, to kill hogs. Just decent marksmanship.
