Scope for 375 H&H recoil sensitivity
Somewhere I read that putting a big hknking scope on a hard recoiling rifle was a recipe for disaaster or scope failure. So I'm looking at a 1.75-6 or 1.5 Leupold, the latter is listed for hard recoiling shotguns. I also want the heavy reticle. I would use this for elk or bear in brush or heavy timber. For that matter I could use my old 348 but thought the 375 better for safety reasons. Thanks in advance.

My .375H&H has the 1.75-6 power Leupold VXIII. The scope/rifle has roughly 100 rounds through it withthout any drift or other problems. The scope has a good field of view and is quite bright, although it loks small on the rifle, it should keep you pleased.

I've had a VX-1 3-9 on my 375h&h for a couple of years now with about 500 rnds thru it, not to mention some rough treatment on a number of hunting trips, and no problems at all so far.

SmilerI have 300 ++ rounds of handloads thru my .375 H & H with a leupold 1.5X5 with no problems whatsoever. Best of luck with your choice.

I put a vx-2 2-7 on mine.Works very well,.Great eye relief and low enough setting for the thick stuff!

I'll second the Zeiss Conquest. I have one on a 375 ultra mag and although I have only about 200 rounds through it, no isseus at all. Plus the constant eye relief is a great denefit.
