I have a Trijicon accupoint scope mounted on a 7 MAG. It seems every time I transport it it is no longer zeroed. After a trip of about 1200 miles to a ranch in Texas it was 14 inches low. I sent it back to Trijicon and they sent me a new scope. In Dec I went hog hunting (about 150 miles)> I did get a hog but I did not hit it where I intended. Later I missed a deer at about 100 yards. Went back to the range ant the rifle was 3 inches left and 4 inches high. If I don't transport it it stays on zero. I carry the rifle in a solid metal case when I travel. Last year I shot 3 deer with it. Two close to 200 yards. Each year I take any rifle I may use for hunting to the range to check the zero of each one.
Any ideas???

Get rid of the scope or return it to Trijicon? Have you had any similar problems with other scopes. I'm sure it's happening but it is surprising that recoil doesn't knock it off, but travel does.

This is the only Trijicon scope that I have. Bought it to hunt hogs under lights in Texas but can't aford to travel that far any more. My other scopes are Leupolds. Only had a problem with one of them, sent it back to factory. They completly rebult and upgraded it.

Have you confirmed with another known accurate scope that it is definitely the scope?

Reason I ask is that I had a friend with a similar problem, and what we found was his action screws were just loose enough that the travel (car or plane) introduced enough vibration to loosen things up enough to shift around and change POI. Interestingly, the screws had loctite or similar on them, which didn't keep them torqued down (obviously) but is was gummy and kept them from being noticeably loose, they were just in different positions.

Beyond checking that, I would REMOVE the bases and check that the screws fit the bases well, and the holes in the receiver (without the bases) and that there isn't an issue there if you didn't do that when you checked the mounts.

Get Talley base a rings, problem will go away.
OH by the way have you checked the crown on the rifle. I had a similiar problem had the rifle re crowned perfect.
