6X scope?
I am going to buy a 6X scope. I had wanted to buy a Leupold, on Ebay, I just can't find one for under $150, my absolute max. I had just about decided on a Weaver. Then I found the Pentax, or possibly the new Simmons Master Series. Any suggestions? capt david troll

In that price range, you can find a used Nikon Monarch or used Burris Signature, and both offer superb optics for the $$.

Save your money until you can afford the Leupold. Look for the 6x36. It will sell for significantly less than the 6x42 and provides the same performance in a smaller, lighter, more compact package. The only difference might be when the hour is later than legal shooting time, at which point the "low light" performance is academic. You'll have to be very young and healthy and never have smoked in order for your eye pupil to dialate wider than the 6mm exit pupil provided by the 36mm objective.

I doubt you will have a long happy relationship with any scope you can buy new for $150.

Here is some info on the Pentax Gameseeker 6x42:
Solid one piece, 1" tube construction.
Waterproof
Nitrogen filled to prevent any internal fogging
Fully Multi-Coated optics with Pentabright technology
Bullet drop compensating Precision Plex reticle
It measures 12.48" and weights 12 1/2 ounces
Exit Pupil is 7mm
Eye Relief is 3.15"
Field of view (Feet @ 100 yards) is 19.9
Adustment Graduation (inches @ 100 Yards) is .25
Maximum Adjustment (inches @100 yards) is 60

This is a fine scope and @ $99.99 it is definitely worth a look.

Have a great day,

Ditto what Stonecreek says. I have three 6x36 Leupolds, they are a great scope, and well worth the asking price.
