Need some new bino's
During the 30 odd years I lived in Alaska we used 10X bino's all the time. But now since most of my hunting will be for whitetails in Tennessee I need a decent pair of 7x35's or 8x40 or 8x42's.
What are some decent binos to consider in the $300 to $400 price range?

There are some other models in between. Scopes are excellent also. Camera Land is great to deal with.

Go to EBAY and find a pair of Bausch&Lomb Rochester,NY made 7x35 Zephyrs usually about half your price and top of the line.

A recent evaluation/rating of low priced binos in a major hunting magazine found the #1 to be the Leupold Yosemite. I believe the tested model was the 6x or 7x. Sounds like what you're looking for; price point was around $200.

Another vote for vortex. I have a pair of 8x30 swaro slc. My wife has a pair of 10x something vortex. Dont get me wrong, there is a difference, but the vortex are what i grab for whitetail here in virginia.

Many good choices to pick from from. Think I will go with the Nikon Monarchs 5 8x42's unless a great deal on something else pops up. I've owned Leica 10x42's and Zeiss FL's for years so it will be nice to finally carry something light and the Nikons weigh in about 4-5 ounces lighter than the Vortex's.

Wish I could put my hands on the Vortex Diamondback before deciding though.

I like Snowwolfe's idea. I have the 8x42 Monarchs and I've beat them up for almost a decade now, they are still going strong.
