Leupold golden ring time frame
quote:
Incidentally, the 1963 Shooter's Bible lists the Vari-X (no II) and shows an illustration with an arrow from right to left through the "Vari-X" logo. I do not have a 1964 Shooter's Bible, but the 1965 edition calls the scope the "Vari-X II". However, there is no explanation for the name change in the product description.

I just took this quote from another thread and my question is the early vari X 3x9's a Golden Ring scope or did the golden ring begin with the vari X II?

I can find no information at Leupold's web site or from several searches online. The golden is either worn off or was never there on the one we have, and are wondering when did the ring begain? No one seems to have a answer short of calling Leupold.

The "golden" is worn off and has been for a long time. Wink
