Scope for a shotgun.
Ok i have a Benelli super black eagle II and would like to put a scope on it. Trouble is that the slugs i use are the hornaday SST and have MASSIVE recoil. i was wondering if anyone else has been down this road. i looked at the trijicon line and i have an acog that i was thinkin about putting on it or the leupold grand slam. Thaughts please......

Put a Leupold M8-4X or M8-6X on it and go on about your business. They are very fine scopes, and either of the two will give you more magnification than the shotgun slug is capable of taking care of. Also, should they have a problem (which I sincerely doubt happens), Leuopld will fix them...

I use a Leupold scope on my massive recoil 20 gauge slug gun, 375 H&H Magnum, 500 S&W Magnum handgun, etc. Any of Leupold's scopes should be able to handle the recoil.

For a lot of years, I hunted WT with a 12gauge with a 2.5x on it. For a shotgun, I would recommend a fixed power scope at the lower end. A varible just has more stuff that can go wrong, and a 2.5x will give you all the magnification you need for a shotgun's range.
