Leupold Question
Is it correct that Leupold scopes do not come with lense covers or did I read another post wrong? I have never heard of a scope without lense covers.

Yeah, you heard right. You think you are getting value when another manufacturer gives you 50 cents worth of plastic? I'd rather get what I want than something the manufacturer supplies that don't really fit my needs.

You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

Some "proprietary" brands of inexpensive scopes may be packaged with lens covers, but I know of no "serious" scopes shipped with them.

Lens covers are excess baggage in most situations and should not be utilized when the gun/scope is in storage and should be used in the field only when circumstances are extreme.

I haven't owned a set of lens covers in 43 years of owning serious rifles and scopes, and haven't missed them yet. By the way, that 43 year old Leupold, with its "unprotected" lenses, is as bright and clear as the day it came from the factory.

Yes, arn't they a pain in the butt.
I don't know what they're supposed to stop, but they never seem to stop dust.

Haven't ya'll ever tried Butler Creek pop up lens covers? They keep dust out and open in a couple of seconds when you need to use the scope.
