Intro scope for long range shooting...
I have a Browning Hell’s Canyon Speed on order chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, for which I will need a reasonably priced scope. I don’t have anything on hand more powerful than 3-9. I’m pretty much a Leupold guy, and have been scouting around for a vx2 6-18x40, which is discontinued.

What are some other $500 or so scopes with 40 or 42mm objectives? I like smaller, trim and lightweight scopes. Hawke, vortex, and a couple other companies make models in this price range, I just know nothing about them.

I’d be using the rifle to hunt with, and gradual efforts into longer range shooting.

Good morning,
It would be our pleasure to discuss this with you, 516-217-1000.
How about a Meopta Meopro 4.5-14x44? They are available with both capped Hunting Turrets (on sale for $449.99) or exposed Target Turrets (on sale for $479.99).

Have a great day,

I really like the Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40 that I use on my Kimber .300 WSM. I have a CDS dial for it that, based on my still limited testing, is very accurate out to 600 yards. These can be had for about your budget. Doug can hook you up.
