Porroprism binos?
Does anyone make a high quality porroprism bino in the 8 x 35 to 10 x 40 range, not including Steiner? My old Nikon works OK, but its glass doesn't compare well to today's stuff.

I second the Swift Audubon 820 and the 820ED. Check out the Minox BD 8x44 BP.

The Leupold Cascade porros are pretty good too. The Fujinon BFL has a good view but I worry about their durability. I'm going to be looking through the Vixen Foresta this weekend so I'll report back on those.

You may want to also look at the midrange porros; Audubon Raptor, Bushnell Legend; Leupold Mesa, Nikon Action Extreme and Pentax PCF WP II. They pretty much have a view as good as any roof prism under $400.

You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

Thanks a million, guys. Why have I not seen the Swarovski porro's? Guess I should check out their web site. They don't seem to show up in the various catalogs such as Cabela's.

Just got the 8X40 Nikon Action Extremes for my wife. I must say they are better than expected and quite good. Center field resolution is great but the outer 20% of the image is a bit less that sharp.

Nikon Superior E's are possibly the finest view I've ever seen.
Never used Swaro porros.
It's amazing how much better porros are than roofs.
