Schmidt Bender on the way

I just ordered a 3x12x50 klassik for next deer season.I can't decide what gun to put it on my 3006 Ruger or a #1 in 300 Whby.

I just got it yesterday and have'nt gotten a chance to mount it yet.I'm trying to decide if I need to lap the rings.I'm putting it on my go to 3006.I also installed a Rifle Basix trigger yesterday.These improvements should breath some new life into this old war horse.I was very impressed with the clarity and brightness in the back yard last night looking through the scope.The build qualiy also seems excellent,very sturdy.I think it will be able to keep up with my8.5x42 Swaro.EL,wich is what I hoped.I almost got the illum.reticle but it cost almost $500 more.After checking out the scope last night I don't think you would need it very much.
