Looking for a spotting scope

AtkinsonLooking for a spotting scope
My old spotting scope gave up the ghost this week at the range...
Im looking for spotting scope that will let me see 22 cal. holes at 100 yards, that's my only criteria, other than cost, I don't want an expensive scope as I only use them at the range, not for hunting.
Any suggestions, offers, used or new scope will be fine..What do you have that will allow you to see 22 cal. holes a 100..

Eagle DadRay,
I have a 10 year old Burris 18-45X60. I can spot 22 cal holes at 100 yards. 20 cal holes require good light. 25 cal holes can be seen even with the target in slight shade.
To be honest, some day I am going to upgrade to a Swarovski and pass this one to one of my boys. They are far clearer with better resolution but you do pay for it.

Eagle DadForgot to add that I have used cheaper ones but they did not allow me to see as well.

farbedoIf buying new, Alpen's 788 is a good scope. Might still be out of your price range at about $450. Cheapest decent scope I have used.
Used, go 60mm or larger objective. Alpen 788, Nikon Prostaff, Bushnell Spacemaster, Leupold Sequoia. I've used these at the range, and they would do what you want. Stick to 25-30X. None of these work well above 30X.

carpetman1Ray, go to EBAY and find a Bausch & Lomb Balscope that zooms from 15x to 60 X and was made in Rochester NY and you'll be good to go.

Pa.FrankNot sure if you saw this... I posted under your other post..
I have 2 B&L Balscope Sr's in 20x... that I use for precisely the same reason. I can easily see 22 cal holes in a black target at 100 yds.
You can usually pick them up on eBay for $75 to $175.. They come in 15X, 20X, 25X and 30X... don't buy a 30X, you will be cursing me. a 20 or 25 x eyepiece is ideal.
Oh, and don't get the variable/zoom. lots of them on eBay but the resolution is not as good.
