Marc_Stokeldanyone tried the new 1" Schmidt & Bender Summit yet?
Tried several searches and never found a post by soemone who had even seen one in person, much less owned and used one. So is there anyone out there who has tried the Summit scope?
I have used Schmidt & Bender, Swaro, Zeiss, and many others and I love the S&B more than the others. The problem with them is that they weight a ton. but that gives them a toughness that i field tested once when i fell on a snow covdered rock. Had to be sent to germany for repairs but has been going strong ever since.
I have been using the Swaro 1" line to save weight. It is my favorite 1" scope, but i am hoping S&B can get their 1" scope to be as good as their 30mm models. If so then they are a bargain at $1500.

tx308I bought one at one of the DSC nightly auctions. I havent mounted it yet, but plan sending it to the guy who is building my current gun. Its clear but thats what youd expect in a S&B. Just looking through it at low light its clear as well, but like i said i havent hunted with it yet.

LJStx308: How is the eye relief? I have not seen one but was told by a dealer he felt eye relief was a little short.

tx308Its fine for what i am using it for(300 WSM). It seems to be about the norm when you are talking about S&B and Swarovski etc. Ill know more in about another month when my rifle is ready.

j stoviakMarc, Call Alex Roy at Euro Optics 570-220-3159. He has them in stock. Great guy I have purchased many scopes from him. When I wanted a 6-24x long range scope he sent me a S&B 5-25x and Ziess Victory 6-24x. Crazy thing was He told me just to send him the one back I didn't want and send a check for the one I was keeping. I had 5k worth of optics to compare and he trusted me to send check and one back. I'm a customer for life!!! Good luck Jason.
