K20350I think I got the last one piece steel Redfield base in existance. The girl at my gun dealer searched for 2 months to find one for me. Redfield quit making them a few years ago. I bought a really nice sporterized '03 and it had the abomination called "Weaver" mounts on it. It was like a wart on a pretty girl to me. If you search hard enough you might be able to find one but that is your ONLY option other than custom or weaver mounts. Good luck as it was a real search for me. Most guys w/ money to burn buy Leupold Gunsmith bases and have a 'smith make them from what I understand. By the way the Redfield base only works on '03's not 03-A3's.
Ray,
Is the receiver drilled and tapped now?

plainviewIn my experience, drilling and tapping out the receiver may be more difficult than finding the redfield base.
