I am looking at a scope for a new gun.

I am looking at Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 MOAR (part number C458)

and Leica 2.5-10X42 ERi (ballistic).

Both are illuminated, almost the same weight and cost. Leica does have an extra 0.5" eye relief.

I don't have any experience with either company as far as scopes go. I know Leica Camera has to send most items to Germany, and it can take months to get one's M back. But, they are also known for quality.

I'd appreciate any opinions, experiences, and insights.

In my opinion the Leica scope is much brighter. NF is hell for tough but seem a little heavy and not as bright to me. I have both but use the NF on an AR. The Leica is on a hunting rifle.

Thanks. Cameraland had a demo Leica available. It arrived today, and can't tell that it is a demo. Already turned it around to my gunsmith.
