whats the point of having good optics on a range finder? is that what binos and scopes are for. I've used a leica lrf 900scan and it went to 999yards, prob would have dont over a 1000 but it only has room for 3 numbers.

Give one a try, I think you'll like it. Wink

I like my Newcon, but what I am really waiting for is something not yet made....

...A riflescope with both a LRF capability and an "Internally projected" electronic reticule.

That, with the proper chip, will enable the scope to automatically adjust the reticle for the distance, enabling a "no-hands required" change of impact to match the range and the cartridge.

If it also had a "scan" capacity, one could just turn the scope on at the start of the day's hunting, then hold dead center on anything he wanted to hit during the hours in the field.

Betcha we have such within the next five years, though at first they will be both military and pricey......

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

I have been more than happy with my Leica 1200 in WY for goats and in the SE for whitetail. No problems with quick ranging from 20-400 or so yds in my typical hunting conditions/areas.
