Fish30114Using flip up scope covers for Bino's
I've got a couple of pairs of 10x42 Bino's, and the flip off covers are always breaking off.
Does anyone know, or has anyone used the rifle scope flip up covers on their Bino's?
I would love to know what size would fit a pair of 10x42 bino's objective lenses.
Thanks for any thoughts!

Jon JackoviakI know a lot of people that use the Butler Creek Flip Ups on their binoculars. The sizes will really depend on the make and model of the binoculars. Can you tell us which ones you have?

Don, what do you mean by "flip off covers"?? Something like these (these are for Swaros, but most binocs come with a simple ocular cover these days):

What do you mean by "breaking off"?? Accidently uncovering your ocular lenses, but the cover otherwise stays in tact and just has to be replaced??
I would personally find flip-up scope covers a pain in the posterior on binocs: too noisy and too slow to use. Quite apart from these covers interfering with the eyepieces (you wear glasses?) of the binoc. But I guess we all focus on different issues in our gear.
If your current ocular cover comes off too easily, maybe there is a different (deeper?) design available, or maybe attaching it to the binoc (e.g. with the carry strap) can be modified for the cover not to slip off too easily??

Fish30114Jon and Mike, thanks for the replies. The covers I am referring to are the factory ones that come on Leica'a and Swarovski's. They are the BRF 10x42's from Leica, and the EL's and SL's from Swarovski (also 10x42'a)
The covers have a ring that goes around the objective tube, and a little lenght of rubber or plastic or whatever they are made of, that connects to the cover, which just pushes onto the objective....tried to buy some new ones and can't find em anymore, this is my 3rd set on teh Leica's and the Swaro SL's broke a couple of weeks ago.....

idahoelk101I have these on both of my Kahles as well. If they are broken won't Swaro replace them?

Fish30114Good Question idahoelk...I'll call or e-mail them--of course I guess I should call Leica for the Leica's

BuliwyfI finally quit worrying about using covers on my binos and scopes and I'm glad I did.
