What scope for a VSSF II in .223
Its use will primarily be for PD hunting, ground squirrels, jack rabbits and an occasional coyote. I've been looking at the Bushnell 4200 in the 6-24x40 Mil-dot. I have a Zeiss 3-9x40 that I'm very happy with but the Zeiss in the higher power is a bit out of my price range. Anyone have any experience with this particular scope of any of the 4200's? Thanks for any info.

MontMike4200 would be a fine choice, another in the same price range is the Nikom Monarch. Either would be a grate choice.

7x57mmTeesh, not the Bushnell 4200 Elite, but the 7x21x40 Bushnell Elite 3200 with the mil-dot ret. Scope glass is clear as a bell from end-to-end and the clarity at the higher range is still there. I got it from Optic Zone for around $323 if I remember correctly. Anything over $300 gets free shipping. Am completely satisfied with the scope. It went on a CZ 527 Lux/American in .223 Remington. The damn thing looks good sitting atop the rifle. I know this is not what you asked for, but man, that 3200 is some good scope. It is new on the market, by the way. 2ndtimerIf you budgetarily constrained like me, take a look at the Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14 SF or 6-18 SF. Pretty decent for the money, I have the 4.5-14 on a Stevens 200 in .243 and really like it. Side by side comparisons with other more expensive scopes didn't convince me of their $200+ superiority, so I saved the cash and went with the Buckmasters.

Allan DeGrootI have a Cabela's "Alaskan guide" 6.5-20X44mm on my 223Rem 700VSSF.
It is my very first high power scope and it's kinda neat to be able to read the manufacturers adress on the bottom of paper targets at 100yards if the lighting is right I can see 22cal bullet holes at 200yds.
