Excellent question.
I had a Tactical model that had a RFP reticle and a Hunting model with a FFP reticle.
Both were MP8's.
If memory serves me.
I think the older units were mostly FFP reticle scopes. Then the American hunters wanted RFP scopes, so they started making more of those.
I'm not sure.
Sorry.

ncvarhtrNorseman, I'm certaintly not an IOR expert but you can go to
WWW.swfa.com and click on IOR and scroll thru the list of IOR scopes and they show several 1st focal plain models...Check out both the Hunting model and the Tactical Models...Hope this helps some........

Norsemancheaptrick,
Are RFP also knowned as 1st focal plane or is it FFP?

RHutchRFP = Rear Focal Plane = Second Focal Plane = reticle stays the same size as power increases.
FFP = Front Focal Plane = reticle size varies per magnification.

Jon AThe only ones I know of available for sale here now are the FFP illuminated version of the 2.5-10...and the Snipers' Hide addition of the 3-18X42 (non-illuminated with mildly modified MP-8) which can be ordered now and should be delivered in a couple months. It will also feature newer knobs (oversized elevation giving 100 clicks per turn is expected) in .1 Mil increments to match the reticle. It's in a whole different price ballpark though.
