Scope mounts for CZ 550 Safari Magnum.
I recently bought a CZ 550 Safari Magnum in 458 Win. Mag., and am going to put a scope on it. The scope is an old steel tube El Paso K4 weaver. I need to know what rings and bases would be best for this rifle. Thanks in advance.

I am using a Warne QD setup for my 550 Safari because of the 30mm scope I selected.

Smiler I too liked the Talley QD for the CZ. Mine is only a .375 but the quick removal & remounting plus the return to zero are great. Get the ones for the CZ and there are no additional mounts req'd. Good hunting, Art

BEWARE !!!

Talley DOES NOT make CZ 550 rings in 30mm!

I spoke with Dave Talley. They are working on it but are in production right now, so IF they choose to produce it would be late summer at earliest.

Are the K4 weaver a 1" scope? At least I thought so...........

Yes, the K4's and K6's are 1" scopes. On the first 458 I had, a Ruger 77, I had a K6 Weaver, and it was really good. I have been picking up some used K4's and 6's off eBay, and want to put a 4 on the CZ, but am needing to get info on rings and bases. I really like the older Weaver scopes, but have gone to using the Cabela's Pine Ridge 6 powers and while they may not be as high a quality as more costly scopes they have served me quite well. I am using a 6 power Pine Ridge on my 375, and have had no trouble with it after 300+ rounds thru the rifle in conditions from 100 degree Texas heat to low 20's in Colorado in Jan. on late season cow elk. I was just wanting to go back to the Weavers because that is what I started hunting with 40 years ago. Thanks for all the replies.
