Shepard Scopes
I have been given a Shepard P1A scope, matched to my new to me weatherby mkv .240.

The problem is I bought a set of 1" talley accumark integral rings bases. When I mounted them and then the scope, the rings still have a 1/4" gap between the too and bottom. I didn't want to tighten the rings any more for fear of damaging the scope. I also had a set of 30mm rings and they were too big.
I have called the manufacturer repeatedly but only get an answering machine.

Anybody have any experience with a Shepard scope on a mkv?

A picture is worth a thousand words here. I have mounted several Shepard scopes without any issues. The Shepards I have held all were 1" tubes. You may want to measure the rings.

16 inch pounds is plenty of torque. The Shepherd is a 1" tube.
