tom ga huntershould I buy a Leupold MKIV 6.5x20x50
They retail for $1099.99 but I can get a nib for $750. Man it's a big scope, & would replace a B&L 4200 in 6.5x24.

StonecreekWhat's your purpose?
If it's targets or long range varmints such as PDs or chucks (which are both shot in reasonably good light), then the 50mm objective is of no optical benefit.
The 50mm objective will, particularly on a heavy barrel gun, require mounting the scope so high above the bore that it is almost impossible for the stock comb to be high enough to support your cheek.

MikelravyI agree completely with Stonecreek. A scope that big's drawbcks far outweigh the advantages.

Dr. LouI fully understand the need to buy something new, but what will do that the B&L won't?
