QuintusLeupold VX-R
Has anyone used the new VX-R yet? I looked at the features VS. the price and have one on the way in 2-7. I did have the chance to look at one and the Illum dot seems pretty impressive. It will be going on a walking/yote gun - a Weatherby ULW in 240Wby.
I bought a rifle used that has one on it. I think the basic scope is the now discontinued European model. I am impressed with it and plan to buy more. Seems like a pretty good value.

JudgeGI have the 2-7x Illuminated on an 8mm custom Mauser and find it to be a great value for the money spent.

QuintusHave finally had some time to play with the VX-R and it may be the best $400 I have spent on a new scope. Movement is perfect and it is a very easy sight picture and very useable illum. It also looks much better without the big dial on the eyepiece. If the intensity button doesn't wear out too quick it's perfect.

BEGNOI have one (1.25x4) on a .458 Lott. I like it and I really like the way the illuminated dot functions. Lots of scope for the money.

LionHunterMy new VX-R 4-12x CDS arrived yesterday and I have yet to mount it, but I installed the battery and took a look through it. All seems good and typical of Leupold. I was told by Sean Hunter at Leupold that the VX-R has the same optics as the old VX-III, which means excellent performance IMO.
I plan to mount it on a .223.

WestTXMetzI have one on my model 70 375h&h and it has held up in the field so far. I have only had it for a few months and it has only seen about 100 rounds. It seems promising and I am pretty rough on my equment. For the price it's a good buy and the illumination is a bonus.
