JPoint, Docter, Trijicon RedDot, Burris Fastfire, or other?
I currently have one of the Tasco Optima 2000 with a 7 MOA dot. I like it! But looking to upgrade and maybe going to a finer (3.5-4 MOA) dot.

Any opinions on the Docter Optic RedDot, the JP Ent. J-Point, the Trijicon RedDot, the Burris Fastfire or similar "Firepoint" type mini-optic sights?

I'm very interested any opinions on these too as I am considering putting one on a 1911. No one knows anything?

best thing i can suggest is to go to someplace like gander mountain or cabelas where they have them all and look through each one. alot of the small ones aren't bright enough for use in bright sunlight.

Take a hard look at the Doctor Optik.
They make one with a 3.5 or 4 minute dot for rifles and a 7 minute dot for handguns or entry work with long guns.

One thing I don't like about the micro-dot sights on a service pistol...... is that it doesn't point naturally. When you point the pistol instinctively, you have to turn your wrist down (from a solid locked position) to aquire the dot.

So you lose the solid straight wrist support and it takes longer to aquire the initial sight picture.

PS - WESR, I think you would regret spending $300 or so to put one of these on your 1911.
