Amazon has Weaver 1-5x24 DG scopes for $283

This is a great buy. Supposedly they were under $200 until recently.

IIRC they are FFP, too, but it doesn't really mean anything now because they nearly all have an erector tube to bounce south under recoil. Valdada, Swarovski and Leupold, at least, know this is a problem and the last two use special springs to counter it.

If I needed a sight for an elephant rifle, I'd rather trust a solid aperture with a big hole, mounted directly on the receiver, not on a cross arm.
