7x42 Leica binoculars
I have just ordered a set of these from Cabelas and was wondering what was everyones thoughts on them.

The 7x42 size is very overlooked and overall it really is the best binocular for everyday use.

I actually prefer the view from the Zeiss Victory FL 7x42mm to the Leica Ultravid 7x42mm BR. They are also $1350 with a rebate at Cabelas, but you must have gone for the Schnees. But, as I don't have the $1500+ to spend on either I can't take advantage of slight difference my eyes perceive. Congratulations on the purchase of some fine glass.

i have aset of 35 year old trinovids they are perfect ,also a new set of 10x42 they are also perfect,i do think the only other comparable is the swarovski,but i am partial to leica,so that is what i own.......paul

Zeiss 8x42 FL here. I concur with jackfish on Zeiss quality and would add durability.

My old eyes put Zeiss and Leica well ahead of the others...great glass.

i recently missed out on a pair of 7x42 zeiss classics in mint cond. for 700$ probably wont see another soon...paul
