In need of scope mounting tips.
Ordered a Leupold FXII 2.5x20 Ultralight for my 458. Have Warne rings/bases coming and a the Wheeler Deluxe scope installation kit. Any tips for how to do this right the first time would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hizzie

Seriously, follow the Leupold mounting instructions included with your scope. All will be well. BTW, nothing wrong with Warne mounts and rings, but I use Leupold QR or QRW so that if something should go wrong at some point, I can count on Leupold as a single source to handle everything under their lifetime warranty.

Instructions? Cool didn't realize it would come with instructions. Package hasn't arrived yet and I wanted to be prepared. Other posts I read suggested Talley or Warne for hard kicking rifles. 8.5lb 458WM definately kicks and I didn't want to have to buy twice, cry twice.

.375H&H, .375RUM, .416Rem x2, .458Lott all wear Leupold mounts and I've never had a problem in over 15 years of big bore hunting.
